Software Development

Introducing my new blog!

Or time to be a bit more professional

3 July 2026

This blog has been great. I've enjoyed having it and uploading to it and sharing the content with friends. It initally started as a free Wordpress site to cover my personal self-improvement journey, but has now grown to cover a range of topics. Even though I often didn't stick to it, having a place I had to get a post done each week for helped to keep me productive and on top of things. Talking about numerous other topics I was interested in such as Football and Video Games was great to give me more to talk about and allow me to give my thoughts on more topics I liked. Adding software development was another great idea, as it is my role, the industry I work in and also selfishly could help with my career.

But when it comes to advancing my career and getting more helpful information about software and coding out there, I never felt that this site was good enough. I wanted to create a more professional brand focused solely on software development. To that end, I have created a new blog called armwilkinson.dev. Using my name and a .dev domain I feel creates a better image of professionalism that I'm proud to share in the world. It also allowed me to play around with different technologies. As it stands I have built two different sites using Next.js and while I like it and React, most of my experience is around C# and so that's what I wanted to use. This site is built using Blazor but for more information on that you'll have to check out my new blog. There may even be a second post uploaded by the time this goes live.

I'm not going to stop using this blog. I like talking about football and sharing my experiences in self-improvement. I have much more to say on both matters. But as of now, there will be a new space for showing of my personal projects, my coding tutorials and anything else of the kind.

I hope you like it there.
